FAQs

How do I know if I need to see a podiatrist?

If a foot, ankle or lower limb problem is affecting how you move, causing ongoing pain, or not improving on its own, it’s worth getting assessed. You don’t need to be in severe pain to book an appointment. Catching issues early usually means a simpler treatment plan.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

No. You can book directly with us at either our Highett or Mentone clinic.

Can podiatrists treat children as well as adults?

Yes. We treat patients of all ages, from toddlers with walking concerns through to older adults managing chronic conditions. Many of the conditions we treat, such as flat feet, heel pain and Sever’s disease, are particularly common in children and respond well to early intervention.

How long does treatment take?

It depends on the condition. Some presentations, like an ingrown toenail or a corn, can be treated in a single appointment. Others, like plantar fasciitis or a stress fracture, require a structured plan over several weeks. Your podiatrist will give you a realistic timeframe at your first assessment.
